Where the Name Comes From
Mirsora is built from two ancient Korean words, woven together into one.
Mir (미르) is the old Korean word for dragon — not the fire-breathing kind of Western myth, but the water-born, sky-crossing kind that ancient Korea believed guarded rivers, brought rain, and carried fortune to those bold enough to seek it. Long before the Chinese loanword for dragon took hold, this was the name people used.
Sora (소라) means conch shell — the spiraled shell pulled from the sea, held to the ear for generations as a way to hear the ocean’s voice from far away. It’s also one of the most enduring native Korean given names, carried by generations of daughters as a symbol of resilience and quiet strength.
